Bhaktivedanta Medical Association Hosted Its 7th Annual Retreat

BMA Conference

The Bhaktivedanta Medical Association (BMA) held its 7th annual retreat from January 17–19, 2025 at the serene Veda Cow Sanctuary in Deland, Florida, marking the second consecutive year at this peaceful venue. The retreat welcomed a diverse group of attendees and presenters, including devotees, medical and allied health professionals, yoga instructors, and financial experts.

His Holiness Bhakti Marg Swami, a steadfast supporter of the BMA, enriched the gathering with his kirtans, Bhagavatam class infused with his signature charades, and a captivating “Nine Devotions Workshop.” This workshop creatively introduced the nine processes of devotional service, making it accessible and engaging for newcomers.

Additionally, Srila Prabhupada’s disciples from Alachua shared insights on their SEVA (Service, Education, Values, Assistance) Care for Vaishnavas initiative and showcased their Sacred Care Mind Body Soul Kits designed for widespread distribution. Highlights also included HG Lakshmi Nrsimha Prabhu (ACBSP) presenting on “The Science of Happiness” and HG Mitrasen Prabhu (ACBSP) introducing his book Krishna Bus Tour while delving into “The Science Behind Sustainable Happiness.”

The retreat featured a range of topics presented by medical and allied health professionals, including leadership, mentoring, physician burnout, wealth creation and management, wellness, and entrepreneurship. Alternative health practices such as essential oils, Ayurvedic first aid, yoga, meditation, and pranayama were also explored.

Devotional activities added a spiritual dimension to the retreat, including a campfire kirtan and a Nrsimha yajna organized by ISKCON Deland.

Dr. Natasha Gupta (Narangi Devi Dasi) reflected on the event: “It was an incredible experience filled with amazing lectures, kirtans, prasadam, a divine location, a campfire, yajna, and the uplifting association of HH Bhakti Marg Maharaja.”

The BMA extends heartfelt gratitude to the organizer, HG Prasannatma Dasa (Dr. Prasanna Tadi), for curating a truly memorable experience that allowed people from varied backgrounds to connect, learn, and grow.
